  • 2022 Ideas/Suggestions Thread

Here is a great place to suggest any and all ideas for improving or adding to the game. It’s also okay to discuss and elaborate on posts from others but try to avoid conversation enders like “they’ll never do that” or “that will break the balance” and instead try to finesse the idea into something more feasible.

    Looking forward to the ideas!

I’m going to just edit my one response to include everything as it comes to me because otherwise it would bloat the thread.

-Medic or Evil Angel should have a heal or LT that splashes healing to all the players in a building.

-Bounding Mines should trigger on splash heals 😈

-Uncommon and Rare LT that add to overkill chance

-Sidekick that adds to overkill chance

-ramp up the community rewards for MMB, I know we have rank and piece rewards but this is the one event where it could be really exciting to hit the next level on the boss because who knows what it could be!

-an empire option to allow non-defenders to heal

    -rare sidekicks in dice/challenge jobs

-a sidekick crate with all of them in it (yes, including rupture) but at a percentage that people won’t riot over

-please update the gifting system, it’s antiquated and doesn’t work half the time

-get rid of jobs having negative returns.

-crates specific to type: demo/jobs/boss/sniper-ghost/healing/defense/health with modified odds so that it’s fair but that you could win something specific to your goals

    -passports in the MMB drops

-new upgrade to hospital that lets medics craft health packs and defenders craft armor packs for a commensurate token cost

-LT power: Monkey’s Paw - X% chance to apply a random debuff to EvE opponent, Y% chance to apply it to yourself

-Event: DECAthlon where you have to download 10 Deca games and put in your army code in all 10 in the timeframe given to get a unique, limited edition LT

-Brainiac’s pet as a sidekick that multiples his abilities

-make it easier to make or replace new characters/toons

-LT that gives a chance of free upgrade: seats, sidekicks, etc

Remove the legend boss cooldown completely.

I had an idea for 3 annual events that are similar in concept so I’m going to put them here in a separate post but this is a work in progress…

      Legend Madness - March
      (based on EvE ranks)

It’s March Madness but with EvE. Earn betting stubs through daily activity achievements (or by spending FP). The top 256 empires in the game get bracketed and fight to the championship for an Event LT named in some way after the winning team.

The event should last 7 days with the first two acquiring betting slips. Then 4 days of 2 wars with the last day being the championship. You could have a lot of fun with a split the pot, “box seats” for a VIP purchase of betting slips which lets you bet as much as you want, people re-betting their winnings after each round or holding them until the end etc.

      Rewards
Usual scale with decent for casual up to big for heavy spenders
Scaled rewards for competing empires as well
Most bets placed - Lady Vice
      Most bets won - Frank
      Perfect Bracket - Lady Luck
      Most bets lost - ?

      Sharks and Minnows - August
      (based on PvP ranks)

Its like Battle Royale during Shark Week but the folks with the monthly earned badges are the sharks and everyone else are minnows. Both teams compete for individual and team prizes. The overarching idea to all 3 event ideas is something similar to how the secret jobs were named after empires, so however that would best fit in here would be great.

      Rewards
The group rewards should make sense based on the play style of the 2 groups - it wouldn’t make sense to do a one-size fits all approach. It could even be a shark or minnow trophy that confers some boost.

Hunting Party (needs a better name) - November
      (based on Boss ranks)

It’s MMB but with the top bossing empire of the year so far as the stages and the player with the top points as the Event LT.

I feel like there’s room to spice this one up a little but it feels like a good start of an idea.

        Merchandise

The new redemption code feature lends itself well to Deca adding a merch store. Yes, there will probably be a market for figures, plushies, and shirts/etc. But! If you include a redemption code with every purchase then it changes things quite a bit and you can play with it in some interesting ways.

        For example:

Buy a figurine and receive X copies of it in-game

Buy a replica of a stamina refill or energy refill and receive X refills per month for a year.

        Same for a crate roll

You could have a super crate special and show a picture of all the epics included at random with stuff like 1 Lady Vice and 1 Frank etc.

I’m sure there are other ways to do it as well like store exclusive items like epic LTs that need to be purchased to have them in-game.

Plus consider selling artwork and even concept art.

It lends itself well to social media updates about new items in stock or special promos - limited quantity or limited time only.

(This would work well with some, not all, but some of the other Deca IPs)

          Advancing the IP

So let’s say you you rewrite the story to be less POV and more character driven fiction. Start with the base story and existing art styles and content to jump start a manga series. Either use existing artists/authors or find some and do a small run of the series.

You can sell them on your new store, again with redemption codes. Sell them at Cons and/or have cosplayers promote them. Sell them in bookstores and comic stores. Take along some of the new merch to promote that and include promo materials for the game.

Continue to promote it all across all the platforms now under your control.

So now there’s a game, a manga, a merch store featuring items from both, what’s next in this reverse engineered IP?

Netflix or streaming adaptation. Do not give into Disney temptation to do a live action - stick to animated.

Do a solid 3 season, 18 episode each run and focus on a high quality episodic serial story. It’s a classic trilogy, it could be good. Shamelessly plug “based on the manga” and the merchandising and still more redeemable one-time per account codes per episode.

Then rinse and repeat the whole process for the other viable IPs.

Leader and Underboss, maybe even officers, need the authority to make empire bosses public.
