  • Keeping it fresh - Why cap things???

A few suggestions for consideration/discussion as I start to max out in certain areas of the game and thus have less incentive...

    1. It would be nice if there were something 'special' when hitting level milestones.... like for hundreds (100, 200, 300) make it more skill points? 1000 should get you more than your empire mates saying 'Gratz!' ...that's a huge accomplishment.

    2. We are out of places to donate items in my empire. Since that is a frequent daily achievement that actually penalizes the player who joins a top empire. Likewise, why not have cash donation achievements be uncapped so that you get X reward every Y dollars???? I still donate $4.5M daily because it's what a good teammate ought to do in my view but we are about to get the last upgrade so not sure what to do then.

    3. Improving EvE battle participation: This is nearly universal - most empires have at least one war with poor participation and for the others people drop in and out because 6-8 hours per day is more time than they can spend. Some ideas...
    • Cut the time to an hour and double the regeneration rates. Going in every 3-5 minutes to take one shot is like watching paint dry and people just leave. One hour battles would be more exciting and you would not have that initial flurry followed by 90 minutes of yawning. Maybe even have a second 'clip' hit at 30 minutes with ten toks that you only get if you were active in the first half so people don't just pop in at the end to dump 40 zombie tokens on demo for their CC
    • Rewards for battle point thresholds in a week, month, season would encourage better participation. This would also address the complaints from the low spenders who are there for every war.
    • Make the standings more reflective of reality. A top 10 empire could lose their last 1-2 wars in a season and drop way below where they should be. Reward the body of work for a season
    • Incentivize winning wars a bit more. More CC is nice but is 20 CC going to make a difference?

    4. Sell or trade items you don't want/need for something useful. Anyone want 150 spy drones? Insignia introduced the precedent for dumping items you don't need or want while getting value back from them. Maybe credit toward 'Item Crate Rolls' where you can pick up the items that go with an LT you missed in the black market but picked up off a scratcher, roll or event. ...anything is better than hundreds of something useless.
    5. Raise limits on achievements: You finished 200 of this boss fight? great, do 200 more for 30 skill points.
    6. Uncommon recombinator drops have improved (THANK YOU!) but making them like insignia drops would still be nice - ie, a boss might drop any of the recoms or even more than 1 type. Uncommons seem to be by far the most fused

There is a ton of new content coming out and clearly our shiny object fascination increases spending to get the 'latest and greatest' but some areas like empire upgrades becoming irrelevant and achievements becoming a rarity probably weren't anticipated in the beginning but as people reach them and run out of new ones it will only hurt the game and penalize the most devoted players who are the glue that holds the game together.

This is food for thought, curious to hear other's feedback

I agree in all aspects. The one thing about Uncommon recombs though, is all of the special Black Market lieutenants (IE: Hotwire, Scorpion, etc.) are uncommon, so if Uncommon recombs were easy to get, there would be way more 9* Hotwires and such running about.

The point about eve participation is always going to be a problem, wouldn't really bother me personally if it dropped to an hour but I think in some empire you may get a lot of folks missing wars entirely due to commitments like work, alot of the wars I attend I notice very quiet at the start of the war and it seems to get burst of activity for awile til everyone has used the tokens and then the wars go quiet for periods of time and then the last 15 mins I notice loads of people logging into war which would mean likely they have just arrived from work or school and are quickly pumping tokens so they get some points, or it could be the opposite and their timezone it is morning and they quickly need to dump tokens before work.

What I just said I notice this for all eve leagues and near the bottom of the legend league which between diamond and legend our team floats between, we was once lucky and caught a few bigger teams asleep and won them and once got ranked against a top 10 team lol and got destroyed within 15 mins but that is really rare.

Re: Keeping it fresh - Why cap things???

If war was even 30 min at 4x speed that would be really cool and almost live time action. I don't see why they don't do this.

Maybe even scale the speed with the level of the empire?

        Top 10 - 15 min (8x speed)
        Legend - 30 min (4x speed)
        Diamond - 45 min (3x speed)
        Platinum - 60 min (2x speed)
        Gold - 75 min (1.6x speed)
        Silver - 90 min (1.33x speed)
        Bronze - 120 min (regular)

I feel like the top empires would be more desirable due to that game play being kind of intense.

I agree with most points though the game needs to be looked at. I really wish they wouldn't keep screwing us on events considering they're the most expensive part of the game and the dissatisfaction after exterminator and chopper leave a bad taste in my mouth.
