  • Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

    Hello all,

Trying to clarify the new Heavy Weapon Skills, this thread will focus on Heavy Weapons exclusively.

First, a recap on skills, there are Active Skills and Passive Skills

Active Skills need to selected as part of an attack, they usually cost 1 or 2 tokens. Most of them stop working when dead.

Passive Skills are always active and applied automatically when the situation applies. When dead, some of them still function but most of them are impared.

    Heavy Weapons Active Skills

Flamethrower: Does horizontal Splash damage, costs 1 token, splash damage applied on a win or on a loss, stops working when dead
Dynamite: 3x3 Area Splash damage, costs 2 tokens, splash damage applied on a win or on a loss, stops working when dead

Booby TrapNew: 70 dmg to player & building when target heals
Understanding: Target and building will receive 70 damage if target heals

    Questions for devs:
    1. Does it work on a win and on a loss?
    2. Does it work when dead?
    3. Can you "stack" multiple booby traps?

ExplosivesNew: +55% chance to detonate on burn, +11.5% dmg on chain detonation(stacks)
Understanding: This is like a regular attack on a single target but is able to explode for extra damage. If target is NOT burning, then small chance of explosion. If target is burning then increased chance of explosion. Attacking the same target and causing detonation increases damage

    Questions for devs:
    1. Is base damage similar to a regular attack?
    2. Whats the exploding % if not burning?
    3. If the target explodes, does it stop burning?
    4. Does it work on a win and on a loss?
    5. Does it work when dead?

    Heavy Weapons Passive Skills

    Indiscrimate: Increases attack against snipers.

Collateral Damage: When attacking a building, chance of Splash damage to a random target inside building for 100 damage. Does not work when dead

Demolition: Increases damage done to buildings, damage bonus is reduced when dead.

BurnNew: +20% chance to burn on splash, dmg over time until opponent uses tokens
Understanding: When using attacks that cause splash damage (flamethrower, Dynamite or Collateral damage) target has a chance of burning. Burning targets will take damage over time and have increased chance of exploding when using Explosives. Target stops burning when target spends tokens.
    Question for devs:
    1. What can cause a target to stop burning aside from spending tokens?
    2. Is there a limit to the burn?
    3. Can we still burn when dead?
    4. Is it possible to put on fire 9 targets at the same time if using Dynamite?

BarrageNew: +50% chance to ignore dodge abilities
Understanding: Provides increased chance to ignore doding ability (Sniper Counter)

BulletproofNew: -15% dmg taken when hit by a critical
Understanding: Reduces damage received by critical hits (Assassin and Sniper Counter)

Veteran: All around bonus and extra coins.

If you have additional questions or clarifications, please post them and I will add them to the main post.

Hopefully we will have an answer from a Dev or we will figure it out between ourselves.

Traitors will be hanged high, Dissidents will be sent to reeducation camps in Siberia, others will mostly just disappear.

i splashed a target this morning and burned him/her... i wasn't able to see the long term effects of the burn since the assassins were decapping so fast. Can't wait to get full clarification on all of this.

Booby trapped a guy and he blew up his own building. It was sooo funny. Too bad it was a friend Level 2 doesn't seem to add anything though.......bandages?

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

Booby trap can be useful, One of the heavies in our empire made an empire waste 2 HP with booby trap.
The building had 2 healers and we had gotten it to low health, both were booby trapped, both healed and the 140 dmg from the traps brought the building down.
But this i think will be a limited use thing so you don't want to many in an empire, especially as more heavies get stim packs

Drac, I can answer your questions about Booby Trap.
          1. It seems to always work. I placed it on a lvl 397 twice and worked both times.
          2. If you are dead you CAN NOT us the skill.
          3. Each booby trap uses 1 token. Yes you can set multiple. I set 2 on defenders of same building, both healed and both blew up the building.

The rest of the the new abilities I am still trying to figure out. Well put Posting. Hope this helps.

Burns 20% chance to proc seems Very accurate which is nice.

As in UWE tanks thread, burn lasts for 5 minutes and I've stacked it to 3 on a guy which is 75 extra damage over 5 minutes if he's not killed in ths time.
I'm not entirely sure and forgot to watch in last battle but I think if someone attacks a person with a burn on that the burn gets amen off. Will check later tonight in battle, I hope ths is not the case and just my imagination.

It does also seem to me that the time limit gets reset when a new burn is applied, again somthing I need to check. Coud of sworn a guy had the burn symbol on for longer than 5 minutes after a second burn was applied.

Should be good for dynamite lvl3 which finishes for me tomorrow evening. Ill be hitting consistent 800plus hits with crits over 1k. Take into account burn damage and realistically 850plus per hit comsistantly should be common place.

If empires keep track of individual heavy players in there team and hold them back for mass targets to use dynamite then we could see very quick changes in the tide of battles.

Lol, imagine 2 players such as myself unleashing say 6 dynamites at lvl3 on an hq population, to most empires that would be instantly taking out 6 or more players. Obviously you'd have to spread your hits around the building to maximise that 9 targets get hit.

Love the look of barrage and bulletproof, definatly next on the list to get.

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

Lol if I could get a chance to effectively test this stuff it would be nice.

He'll havent seen more than a group of 7 people together in last 3 battles to dynamite, damn always one or two people dead as a building opens.

One thing of note I'd like other heavys to look into also....I'm pretty sure burn does not get applied if you get a critical shot had about 10 critical s since burn was learned and not one burn applied with those shots.

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

barrage also gives help against that assassin splash dodge..

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

Just hit a 1020 total damage hit with 1 burn being inflicted using dynamite lvl3 on 9 targets, non crit shot so 1045 if the burn goes its duration.

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

Is there a level 2 & 3 booby trap? and what would be the damage? It seems as if level 1 mostly is a waste of tokens.

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

                      Lvl 2 : 100 dmg 5k cc cost
                      lvl 3 : 125 dmg 7k cc cost
note that lvl 3 deals as much dmg to building as a normal building attack with demo 3 and high stats, plus you deal 125 dmg to the player who heals.

Re: Heavy Weapon Skills and Questions Thread

Yes muppet, the timer resets when a new burn is applied. Burn can stack on the same target 5 times I believe.
Bulletproof is badass... Lvl 2 is 20% and I believe lvl 3 will be 25%

Why? So enforcers can just stim your booby and you just put another one on? Seems like a good strategy to me.... Enforcer wastes tokens and my booby trap does everything normal -10 dmg.

Are those new skill works on bosses??? I wana make a max boss point for epic drop and stuff but im hesitating between sniper and heavy. Sniper deals lot of crit but ive read on a forum that heavy can deal massive dmg to bosses and im wondering how...

So should i stick to sniper for bigger points at boss or should i go for heavy??
