Starting an Empire
Okay well here is a guide for some of you new empires out there that are wanting to make it into the big leagues or have fun with an exciting crew. From my experience as an empire leader ill show you strategies of what to do when your a new empire and how to evolve into something more unique then just an ordinary empire.
step 1. Finding a name:
This is your empire, its your baby you need to get a good name for it or something that has not been used previously. When i started my empire there was not that many names out there already so Russian Mafia may seem very generic, but also in this sense generic may be relate able. Its all on who you are trying to attract into your empire.
step 2. Finding a Core:
As being your first empire and a lot of others first empire you will have to start quickly in order to get members. Two routes can be taken; using close trusting friends or people you may play the game with or talk in global with or mass invite. To enable a close core private message certain individuals who you want to recruit and tell them what you are offering and what your aims are in the future with this empire. To mass invite, go into empire settings and enable open recruitment. After open recruitment is selected go ahead and attract a large group, usually by posting a unique message related to the message in recruiting close friends but post it in global chat or even the UWE forums.
step 3. Organization:
This may be the most tedious step in the process and also one where emotions have to be taken out of play. You as a leader have to seek out people you can trust and know will help your empire prosper within your core of members. These people should then be selected as officers and be given guidelines on how to represent your empire or how to help organize it. Maybe by giving different officers different roles :: eg. Role Call Officer : officers checking on recent member activity to see if any are inactive or Forum Officers : Officers contributing to the Forum influence of your empire.
step 4. Evolution:
When getting into diplomatic decisions and times where you need the whole group together you need to open a type of connection together. Via email ect.. this will help your members make it to meetings or any notice of current important events. Now there are a few other secrets to evolution but your going to have to come up with them yourselves
Tips:
-Dont underestimate Forum influence, the forum is a great way of connecting and helping others know your empire and recognize your aims as an empire.
-Stay calm, no matter how big the problem is or how discouraged you are from not getting members or someone screwing you over per say, don't lose your cool as an empire leader, it makes you look weak and people may spot it.
-Work together, your empire is your family, you need to look over it like it is your family. Those people in that empire trust ya, certain bonds may be made and sometimes you may not even realize it or maybe you will.
-Maybe have an idea of how your empire wants to be, ex. Russian Mafia is based upon us all being family, we stick together and help eachother out. Or maybe your an empire that is out there to kill everyone and anyone at the top better watch out! whatever it is push the idea a bit.
-HAVE FUN! its game! take everything with a grain of salt
