  • Building Damage Explained.

Since PA is attempting to increase clarity, they decided to share this information. While they didn't explicitly state to post this, they gave us the go ahead to share the information with the community.

Building Formula: This formula is actually different from both the Duel and War formula. There's a base damage range that is augmented based on your class (Heavy/Terminator get a flat bonus) and your Attack and Defence (not attack/defence power). It's also separately boosted by LTs, Items, and the research lab. Base building damage gains equal benefit from both attack and defence, and HW/Terminator use the same formula, but have a flat base damage increase as well as increases from class abilities [Grenade/Demolition].

Basically this is the question. How many lts count? Only the seated ones, or all of them? And similar for Items, all up to 501 items in each category, or only the class' items (top gun & top 2 Heavy Wepons)?

Research Lab? Is that the EvE building that no one knows exactly what is it for and most use it as a sacrifice building with more defenders in it?

Well, I guess attack and defense count in an equal manner? No need of the 70% transfer from one to the other? Interesting.

      1. what is the common flat damage for every class regardless of A or D
      2. What is the flat boost to HW/Term class
      3. how does A or D add to demo (+5 demo for every 100 Attack, for example and +4 demo for every 1000 defense)
      4. how do LTs, items affect demo?

I think what we're trying to achieve is to get the optimal demo setup, but the demo description above is very vague to say the least.
I can only answer the third question with certainty, Attack and Defence are both counted evenly towards Building damage. 1000 Attack will affect demo the same as 1000 Defence under the same conditions. (I don't have specific numbers though. Sorry.)

I'm not sure about your first question, hoping to get more info soon.

Yes. In my experience, the Research Lab seems to offer small damage/defence boosts, which could help explain the added demo damage. I'm not 100% though, so hopefully we can get some clarification what it does in the near future.

The 70% transfer applies to duel and war. In regards to Building damage, both are counted evenly.

I hope I helped answer a few questions at the very least, and sorry that I don't have more info. With any luck, more is on the way. This was more to help inform you that Building Damage isn't calculated with either of the previously known formulas.

        Re: Building Damage Explained.

Very interesting. One of the reasons I switched from HW to enforcer was because I am 99% defense based. I was led to believe that I'd never be as strong as demo who were attack based. I see that isn't the case.

          Re: Building Damage Explained.

We have a defense based terminator that has done 16K damage (no nuke) and is consistent in the 12K-14K range. Never touches the Nuke we leave that for the dead and low level players.

            Re: Building Damage Explained.

            Some more detailed info:

            1. Base Building damage is a random number between 15 and 35.
            2. Heavy/Term get a flat 5 damage boost.
            3. The formula takes into account seated LT's and their items. Any damage increasing LTs and Items [i.e. Vigilante, Berserker's Wolfskin, etc] also apply to building damage.
            4. The research lab gives an attack, defense, and damage mitigation bonus to your entire empire per each point your opposing team scores. It's really great for empires who don't necessarily have a strong showing at the beginning of the fight and need scaling defense bonuses until their big guns join later on.

what we know is that base damage is between 15-25
                Demo1 +20, Demo2 +40, Demo3 +60
A and D affect Building damage equally, but we don't know how?
Seated LTs affect Building Damage, but we don't know how?

I wish PA would come clean on this once and for all, so we can stop speculating. I have 2 demo accounts so this is interesting to me.
Actually it reads between 15-35 base damage
Heavy Weapons get a flat +5 bonus: now 20-40
                Demo1 - 40-60
                Demo2 - 60-80
                Demo3 - 80-100

                Now on to Terminator
Terminator also get +5 flat bonus as I am reading this. so 20-40
Grenade1 unlocks with class with adds +10 (30-50) and 20% base damage (20% of 20-40 or 30-50, I am not sure)
                20% of 20-40 is +4-8
                20% of 30-50 is +6-10
Grenade2 is +15 extra damage and 35% of base damage (Grenade 2 is typically right on par if not better than Demo 3 in my experience)
So assuming we are looking at the 30-50 range, add in the +15 and we have 45-65
                35% of 30-50 is +10.5-17.5
                35% of 45-65 is +15.75-22.75

Grenade3 is +20 extra damage and 50% of base damage
Again I'm going with assumption of we are now at a 45-65 base +20 is 85-105
                50% of 45-65 is +22.5-32.5
                50% of 85-105 is +42.5-52.5

Let us not forget the HUGE damage boost that Grenade gives against shields as well.

LTs are factored separately according to this post, particularly the LTs that add bonus to damage.
                Examples:
Vigilante at 1* gives a 2% damage boost, so if you deal 100 building damage Vigilante will add 2%, or +2
Backfire (common LT) adds a flat boost scaled by level star. adding +2 at 1* +3 at 2* and so on. This number is consistent regardless of what damage you are dealing.

No where in this thread do I see mention of Tech Lab giving a boost to demo. Research Lab (which is a building in EvE) gives a boost to the entire empire based on points scored by the opposing team. This means as your opponent scores points, you get scaled bonuses to your attack, defense and building mitigation. The attack and defense would also aide in your building damage formula whether it be adding a % or a flat number of points to each.

The other thing is seated LTs and their items. It does not clearly state this but I believe it is their attack/defense that is taken into account much like your toon's base attack/defense )I played around with it and seated 5 low star commons then seated 3 5 star commons, 7 star uncommon and a 4 star rare and that change alone boosted my damage by 5-10 points). Items are considered because they boost attack stats by X points or by X%.

So that much is clear, the one thing we do not know is exactly how much you base attack and defense affect your demolition damage output.

about 60 - 70 sp for 1 dmg, find the biggest guy in the game the number could be more accurate.

So, number of Lts doesn't effect demo dame now ? It means we only focus on atk/def and 5 seater Lt ?

It will be very interesting to see. I've just ordered level 2 grenade. I was doing a max of 87 against warehouses and a min 67. Between now and getting the upgrade, nothing else will change.

Had grenade for two wars now. Very disappointing! I've only moved up about 12 points. So from 67-87 to 79-99. Can't believe it really. At demo 3 and with 500 less def/att I was doing 120. Something is seriously wrong with this class!!!! Wasted 18k so far.

I consistently hit for 108-130 on buildings with damage reduction maxed. On buildings without damage reduction I hit up to 150.
