Re: Empire Battle Upgrading Members Limit FAIL

What Paul said sounds about right.

70 tokens extra because of the greater number of actives is like 2-2.5k? Of a warehouse health I think and by the end of the battle that would equate to some 240+? Tokens in total......that's a lot of destruction you should of been ahead.

Don't underestimate the importance of stunning the enemy players to halve there damage output. If they was stunned sooner ( I'm making assumption they Wernt and buildings /defenders took priority ) then you would of cut the rate at which they accumulate points in half.

You had 43 actives to our 36, but you guys made some very poor strategic choices near the end. One thing I noticed when analyzing the match was that some of your players thought because you were up by points that they could slow down on using their tokens. This is what completely slowed down your point accumulation. You were ahead by a lot of points but we were able to catch up and get more points than you before you finished killing our last member. That is more to do with some of your members error than to do with the battle system. Also, you had around 4 actives up that had a healthy amount of life and around 5 that were getting low. The 5 decided to try and be hero's and quickly burn down our last member, I watched as they took themselves out of the battle giving us the points we needed. The way I look at it, if the additional members didn't slow down, you would of killed us off before we even reached 100 points let alone 117.

As far as the comment of needing high BSI players who are very active. I 100% agree, if you want to be successful in empire battles at the highest level if you don't field 40 actives you don't stand a chance anymore. That's how any competitive game is though so I don't see the problem with it. It's comes down to what you want for your empire. If you want to be the best empire you must ensure you have the best (active, high BSI, FP spenders) members.

I don't think the system should be changed, you guys could of easily put that game away. It also creates different strategies and adds a different dynamic to the game. Whoever finishes with more points wins.
Of course an empire shodow members not complaining. They won with everyone dead. For them things counldnt get better. It doesn't make any sense. This is war not a sport. In sports if all your players end up injuried but you still have more points you win, in war if you army is dead, how do you win?

Huh!!! That's easy I'll say don't put more than 115 points on the field then. Right? Take out several inactive ones so Blue will have nobody to attack and they'll b pissed instead of u

Re: Empire Battle Upgrading Members Limit FAIL

I think the system is good, the point accumulation involves a lot of strategy, offensive and defensive ones.

BUT it should be a sure win if you wipe the opponent away, regardless who has more points. This is a strategy too. You can go for points, as long as you survive the battle. If not to have more points is worthless. You won't consider an enemy as the winner whose whole army wiped away only because them killed more than you did. To lose although you wiped our your enemy is something that should not happen here.

So, in the case of EmpireShadow and Eagle Nest the winner should have been Eagle Nest, who managed to totally kill their opponents before the time limit. Sorry Paul, thats my opinion.

This is a game not war, and correct me if I'm wrong but is professional gaming not called e-sports anymore? You play within the rules of the game, that's it. You ignored my points and instead responded with emotion. That doesn't help anyone.

Like Hammer said. Trim the fat. Don't upgrade. Thus lowering the point total one can gain against you. Bulk up on health. Buy special powers. Build hospital to heal. Re-adjust to game every 2-4 weeks.

If you put more points on the playing field for your opponent to steal then do a better job of defending those points. Learn from your lost.

Everything is correct. But, if you fail to survive the battle, its a misscaculation on your side. The trick should be to earn the most pts AND to survive, or wipe out the opponent regardless of the pts. Both ways can fail = thats strategy.

To ignore the wipeout = lose part strategyis beeing taken away and not more added. Without wipe = lose it is only going to be a point hunting and that i do not call war. to win with points is a strategy, to win with wipe is the other. If you accumulate more points but do not survive the battle = your strategy failed and you lose. Sounds logical to me and i am sure you can find many games and sports in which it is handled the same way.

Re: Empire Battle Upgrading Members Limit FAIL

                    advantages of 10 more members:
                    1) 100 extra tokens immediately when the battle starts
                    2) over the course of a 2 hour battle, 330 extra tokens
                    3) 10 extra members donating to your empire
                    4) 10 extra members earning boss points on the boss leader board

To end a battle early, you must destroy all buildings and players. If you have more members you have more firepower. If you have more firepower you should be able to achieve the early termination condition sooner.

Adding 10 extra members is so absurdly beneficial I can hardly believe this thread exists. To ask an empire to not only overcome a 330 token deficit but ALSO require them to earn 10 extra points in the same amount of time in order to win seems a little silly. THAT would break the game because empires without the member upgrade would no longer be able to compete with empires that had it.

Manimal, the issue seems to be that you can wipe our your opponent but still lose the war because them earned more pts.

Re: Empire Battle Upgrading Members Limit FAIL

Very interesting argument from both sides. Personally, from a game design standpoint, I do think that wiping out all players and buildings from the enemy should result in an immediate victory. But as Manimal stated, there can be imbalances associated with the increase in member count.

The game would not be unbalanced with big empires, big empires should be fighting big empires and small ones should battle small ones. When big empires beat smaller ones that's fair, the big empire worked hard to get there, the smaller empires just need to keep trainning.

Reading over this thread, I'm not sure if any method of determining a winner is 100% fair.

You are right, once they hit 117, there was no way you can win. Regardless of what happens, they had one more kill than you could possibly get.

But you had a chance to win it, if you would have killed them all before they got to 117, you would have won with 116-xxx. You did not finish the game off quick enough and they did slightly more damage.

For the idea of once you destroy everyone on the otherside is an automatic win. Sound like a good idea, but there is always a drawback.

This give a empire with 60 who can destroy everything within the two hours a huge advantage against a similar empire of 50. The empire of 50 will need to do an additional 16000+HP(10 playersX1600HP each) damage to the larger guild in the same amount of time to win. That is a lot of tokens the smaller guild needs to overcome the bigger.

Is it a perk of getting to 60 before the other empire? Sure, but the conclusion of a battle like that is known already in the first few seconds.

I will have to say that inactive players SHOULD NOT BE IN EMPIRES!!! Why aren't they just free lance? I know that we like to win... Also while I'm back and forth about the money I enjoy being able t buy more stamina, if u can do it why not? I mean the game has to make money...but I also think that we should be able to upgrade building without an empire cap of only 500,000!!! That's not fair that's like what 5 people a day? I have an empire FULL OF ACTIVES, that's how I recruited them..well some arent a d they will go freelance, but I have at least 25-30 on in a day, I feel like AT LEAST 20 ppl should be able to donate a day, the limit should most def be increased, I mean this is a gam to win right? If weaker empires can't contribute sorry but I have so many willing to. Also if players are in different time zones can they still donate? Now I feel like at least the 24 hour clock should start for each individual person. ALSO if we can buy epics and stamina and all this why cants we buy war tokens? And why can't we start with more than 10 if its 30 max? If you wait on 30 ur dead lol, just suggestions.

After this factual and accurate post I fail to see how this discussion can go on.

The fact one team lost with more actives is pure and simple strategy based mistakes and if anything gives hope to the prospect that empires with less members can actually win as the underdog
