  • Fusion Guide

I've seen a lot of questions going around about the new Lieutenant Fusion feature, so hopefully this guide will answer most, if not all, of the questions you may have.

    What is fusion?
Fusion allows you to increase the rank of a lieutenant by sacrificing two other lieutenants of the same rank and rarity.

    How does fusion work?
A few things are required to use this feature. First, you need the lieutenant that you want to boost. Then you'll need two lieutenants to use as "feeders." These are the lieutenants that will be used to raise the rank of the first lieutenant. They will need to be the same rank (stars) and rarity as the lieutenant that you wish to boost. Keep in mind that the lieutenants used as the "feeders" will be lost after the fusion is complete. Finally, you'll need a recombinator of the same rarity as the lieutenant whose rank you want to boost.

For example: Let's say you want to boost the rank of your 1* Diablo. Since he's an epic lieutenant, you'll need two 1* epic lieutenants to "feed" to Diablo. We'll use Sin and Raven for this example. Finally, you'll need an epic recombinator, since we're dealing with an epic lieutenant. Once you've the fusion is complete, you'll be left with a 2* Diablo. Sin and Raven will have been used up in the fusion, and you will no longer have them. The recombinator is also used up.

    What's the point of fusion?
Fusion is geared toward the heavy spenders are the high energy builds that commonly do challenge missions (dice jobs) for lieutenants. Fusion gives these people something to do with the extra lieutenants that they don't need. In the previous example, let's assume you had a 2* Raven and 2* Sin. The extra 1* copies of those lieutenants would just be sitting there since you can't fuse them without an additional copy. Fusion allows you to use those copies on a different lieutenant.

How do I get more recombinators?
Recombinators can be received as rewards from dice jobs and boss fights. Listed below are the jobs and bosses that drop each recombinator.

    Common Recombinator
    Slums Dice Job: Street Fighter
Train Tracks Dice Job: Street Race
    Ghost Killer
    Skull Soldier
    Skull Elite
    Victor's Demolishers

    Uncommon Recombinator
    Midtown Dice Job: Drinking Contest
    Meatpack Dice Job: High Roller
    The Titan
    Mastermind
    Skull King

    Rare Recombinator
Downtown Dice Job: Build a Reputation
Westside Dice Job: Fight to the Death
    Italy Dice Job: Gunshow
    Illuminati
    Red Phoenix Clan
    Storm Raiders
    The 4 Deadly Assassins
    Legends: Baron
    Legends: Firestorm

    Epic Recombinator
    Russia Dice Job: Bear Wrestling
Hong Kong Dice Job: Shaolin Temple
    France Dice Job: Truffle Hunt
    Mexico Dice Job: Lucha Libre
Las Vegas Dice Job: Shark Tank
    Japan Dice Job: Sumo Match
    Doomsday
    Dragon Core
    Knights Templar
    Death Cartel
    Death Dealers

Wait, why can't I use *insert lieutenant here* in fusion?
Certain lieutenants cannot be used as feeders because they are required for jobs. In order to use these lieutenants as feeders, you must have a copy of them. Here is the list of lieutenants that fall into this category:

AK, Blade, Blink, Caine, Cesar, Charmaine, Fang, Fox, Hector, John, Kate, Lucas, Mia, Michael, Penelope, and Tagg.

That's about it. If anyone has any ideas for anything else I should include here, feel free to let me know.

      Re: Fusion Guide

What I mean by this is that every job (barring secret jobs) requires you to have a certain lieutenant in order to complete it. Tagg is needed to complete certain jobs, as are all of the listed lieutenants.

Well if you say so, so what job needs Boris? Because I don't have that Lt?

Thank you Hunter. It just valuates my point even more, that "Certain lieutenants cannot be used as feeders because they are required for jobs." is nonsense, and Fusion is flawed in many ways.

It's simply a mistake on my part then. I'll remove him from the list.

                          Re: Fusion Guide

Fusion is really pissing me off!!!! I don't need to sacrifice ANY LTs until I 9 star them. I am really pissed that I completed a dice job in the hopes of getting a LT and I didn't care who. Instead I got a fusion pack. I have every LT at max level. If I don't have a LT to level I am wasting the ability to level up.

It would be nice to have the choice of fusion or LT on dice jobs. Or at least guarantee no fusion if not 100%.
If a butterfly can cause a hurricane, what can a sneeze do?

I don't believe the issue is that they are required for jobs. I think they are available for purchase so you aren't allowed to sell them all off or you'd be able to purchase them again. Just an educated guess, but I'd be happy if someone could confirm or deny that.

That's how I see it as well. The LTs that we cannot consume as feeders (unless we have extras) were all available for purchase using in-game money.

If we were allowed to use them all then they would be available for purchase again. Basically consume them all as feeders, then buy them again and again.

Everybody would have all 9* Rares very easily.

Of course PA can make a code change that won't allow purchasing these LTs more than once. No idea how practical that is.

                              Just my $.02
