Forum Rules [Updated 12/21/2016]

MAIN RULES OF THE FORUMS

Please respect your community. Respect each other as you all enjoy the same thing – The Game.

We encourage open and friendly discussion of the game and the Community. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters, and are here to make sure that the Community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for players of all backgrounds, ages and groups.

It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules and to honor the behavior outlined.

PURPOSE OF THE FORUMS

These forums provide an area for constructive player discussions of the game. It also allows players to
help each other identify bugs and issues, and help each other reproduce and resolve them.

These forums are not the most direct way to contact support. If you’re having an issue with your game and you need direct assistance, please tap on the FAQ/Support tab within the game.

CHANGES OR IMPROVEMENT

Please make sure to stay updated on these rules by reviewing this page from time to time.

This is a private board. As such, decisions made are final.
We reserve the right to remove any message board content without notice for any reason.


Rule 1: Responses to rule violations
Violating these rules will result in warnings, either formal or informal, suspensions, banning, or other sanctions.

Rule 2: Respect other users on the forums
- Do not make attacks or insult other users, either in the forums or through private messages. Disagreements and debates are fine, but don’t make it personal.
- Do not attack groups. This includes professions, races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, incomes, or even vague groups like “you people.”
- Do not use ill terms which are offensive to groups, do not “flame”, “troll.” or “haze”.

Rule 3: Respect the forum purpose and structure
- Make your posts in the appropriate forum.
- Please use the Search function. If a relevant thread already exists, please post there instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. Duplicate threads will be closed to keep the forums orderly and easy to navigate.
- Keep off-topic posts in the off-topic forum.
- Don’t start discussions about games that are not ours.
- Do not cross-link to other message boards or websites unless approved by a moderator.

Rule 4: Respect the law
- Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law, or encourage other users to break the laws of the U.S. or their country of residence.
- Do not encourage users to break terms of service. This includes giving information about how to find scripts, exploits, or cheats, as well as arranging to buy or sell accounts or virtual goods.

Rule 5: Respect the audience
Think about who you're talking to. Users may be as young as 13 on these message boards, and may be male or female, and from countries across the globe.
- Keep your language civil. Profanity is frowned on.
- Do not post Adult Material, inappropriate graphic sexual content in any format, or links to sexually explicit sites.
- Do not post graphic images or explicit descriptions of violent acts.
- Do not use an avatar or signature that could offend other users. They have to look at it a lot.

Rule 6: Respect privacy
- Do not post any private emails or private messages unless you have the explicit permission of each person involved in the exchange.
- Do not post private communication between customer support, members, moderators, or administrators on these forums, or anywhere else. (This include support ticket responses)
- Do not post any information covered by a non-disclosure agreement or beta testing agreement. Even if you somehow have inside information about our competitors, for legal reasons we don’t want to hear it.
- Do not post Facebook information about other forum users.
- Do not post any private information about other users.
- Do not post in-game information in an attempt to have other players attack your target. Be careful to not cross the line into bullying.

Rule 7: Do not spam
- Do not post repeatedly about the same topic.
- Do not spam users on the forums or through private messages.
- Do not start a thread without actual purpose.
- Do not start a thread about a news story or article unless you make it clear what the story is about, and offer your own opinion to start a discussion.

Rule 8: Respect your account
- Do not share your account information with other individuals. You will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account.
- Do not create new accounts or use other tricks to avoid suspensions or bans.
- Do not create ‘sock puppet’ accounts – multiple accounts created just so that you can agree with yourself and make it seem like your ideas have more support than they do.
- Never include your e-mail address or any other personal information in posts.

Rule 9: Respect the Moderators
- Do not post using the color red. This color is reserved for moderators.
- Do not impersonate moderators. Do not claim to speak for the moderators.

Rule 10: Respect the decisions of the moderators
- The moderation teams reserves the right to warn, suspend, or permanently ban users judged to be acting against the spirit of the rules, even if the user is following the letter of the rules.
- Do not argue with moderators about moderator decisions. You can disagree with a moderator’s opinions, just like any other poster, but when they post moderator actions in red text, it is considered final.
- Moderators have no access to your game account. If you have an issue you must contact customer service.

Generally, BE NICE. There is nothing wrong with being nice to each other.

    So for most empires there are 3-4 other empires where the win is determined by timeslot and who has two more actives. Most other wars are a blowout one way or the other.

    So how can we change that and make it more competitive? Interested to hear your ideas and hopefully devs will consider.

    1. First and foremost: no change I can think of would have a bigger impact when it comes to leveling the playing field and rewarding activity than making it so that sleeping players have no powers. That means no power to deflect, Turtle, dodge etcetera. Maybe double the amount of damage they take while we are at it. Rationale: how many people are good at dodging bullets while sleeping? Sleeping fighters are defenseless in real life, Mimic here. Doing so would dramatically favor the more active side and make the war between those who show up. Note that my empire has the biggest “meat shield’ in the game and this rule change would hurt us disproportionately but it would make UE better.

    2. Speed up tokens- cut the timer in half. Again this favors actives and makes it more exciting. Underdogs who are on time and have 60 active can and should beat a powerhouse with 20 active.

    3. More special attacks - the laser vs shield thing is a yawner, I don’t think anyone has used it but the idea is right - have some strategic ‘game changer’ tricks. Make the nuke nastier. Have some special attack that takes out one building to force teams to spread players out and not have 50 guys in one basement.

    there is little risk of an upset and hence people login to see the opponent and often blow it off as an unwinnable or I loseable war. Make it interesting. Right now AF can’t lose. Dream Team and LS would have to merge to win. Any top 20 matchup should have an element of uncertainty to it. Those of us in the top 5 empir s would welcome it as well I think - except for a very few who can’t ever handle losing 😱

    Very good points.

    It would be good to receive some new side for EvE.
    I sometimes wonder if Ion Shield and Electrolaser would be more used if they would be maxed. Hmm, maybe a good ideea, on the next beta just set them to max level (without the need to upgrade, simply change the damage number) see if the people use them. Give us a glimpse to what it can be achieved with them.

    Lately I was thinking what if overall classification is based on total points in war. You win with 100 - 30, you get plus 70 points. You lose with 100 to 120, you get minus 20 points. Sure, it would not protect you from matching against top empires and lose in 5 minutes. But new strategies will appear, including eliminating non active members to not lose points in the leaderboard.

      Personally I think the key will be to make activity more important than anything else. It makes the lower level players who can’t spend much significantly more valuable becaUse they can win by swarm against bigger stronger opponents with deeper pockets if they are on time and have a solid caller that everyone follows. What we want to get away from is the automatic outcomes - the top 25 should all have a chance against one another, even if it is 10-20% it will benefit all if we find ways to make strategy and activity more important. Thanks for listening - I wonder how hard it would be to turn off powers and up the damage taken for sleeping toons?

        Shorten war time from 2 hr to 1 hr and up the speed of tokens by x2 (including Gunslinger’s ability)
        Offer actual rewards for EvE beyond the occasional crate shard. IE: top 10 empires get a special rare LT only obtainable from ending in the top 10. EvE wins in diamond give chance at rare shards on collect, EvE wins in legend give chance at rare and epic shards on collect.

          Spot on, 1-3 has a good ring on it. I always dreamt of seeing 80 vs 80 actives on one war.

          The empire super that works like class super sounds nice too, modify the laser and ion shield to accomodate tactical need..

          ex: ten reapers loading some device will get some mass half impale stuff; ten enforcers will give one building and its defender guaranteed deflect for 1 shot. You get my idea..

              I would like to see 80 vs 80 actives as well.
              Increase Sara superpower contribution(double).
              Maybe if our empire can activate superpower more than ones a week it will help.
              I would like to try other superpowers as well!
              For example sniper tower

                the upgrades they have added lately have been geared towards getting empires to merge and/or people to move from low activity empires to higher activity.

                Doubling sara would go in the opposite direction. If you want a super more than once a week move to a bigger more active empire. Then guess what, your one step closer to 80v80.

                My empire we are usually 100% towards a super well before the current one finishes.

                  1 hour wars!!!!!! That would force you to get in, get your tokes, get busy! All EvE’s are either over in 15 minutes, or dump your tokes to open, then come back in an hour, dumps the rest, then return again in 45mi utes to finish.

                  1 hour timer, double speed tokes and packs. PLEASE!

                    EvE is Perfect the way it is. Please don't change the rules of the game seeing as I build my toons according to the rules that were in place at the time.

                    people tend to only see things from their toons or empire point of view.
