Forum Rules [Updated 12/21/2016]

MAIN RULES OF THE FORUMS

Please respect your community. Respect each other as you all enjoy the same thing – The Game.

We encourage open and friendly discussion of the game and the Community. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters, and are here to make sure that the Community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for players of all backgrounds, ages and groups.

It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules and to honor the behavior outlined.

PURPOSE OF THE FORUMS

These forums provide an area for constructive player discussions of the game. It also allows players to
help each other identify bugs and issues, and help each other reproduce and resolve them.

These forums are not the most direct way to contact support. If you’re having an issue with your game and you need direct assistance, please tap on the FAQ/Support tab within the game.

CHANGES OR IMPROVEMENT

Please make sure to stay updated on these rules by reviewing this page from time to time.

SET RULES

This is a private board. As such, decisions made are final.
We reserve the right to remove any message board content without notice for any reason.

Rule 1: Responses to rule violations
Violating these rules will result in warnings, either formal or informal, suspensions, banning, or other sanctions.

Rule 2: Respect other users on the forums
- Do not make attacks or insult other users, either in the forums or through private messages. Disagreements and debates are fine, but don’t make it personal.
- Do not attack groups. This includes professions, races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, incomes, or even vague groups like “you people.”
- Do not use ill terms which are offensive to groups, do not “flame”, “troll.” or “haze”.

Rule 3: Respect the forum purpose and structure
- Make your posts in the appropriate forum.
- Please use the Search function. If a relevant thread already exists, please post there instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. Duplicate threads will be closed to keep the forums orderly and easy to navigate.
- Keep off-topic posts in the off-topic forum.
- Don’t start discussions about games that are not ours.
- Do not cross-link to other message boards or websites unless approved by a moderator.

Rule 4: Respect the law
- Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law, or encourage other users to break the laws of the U.S. or their country of residence.
- Do not encourage users to break terms of service. This includes giving information about how to find scripts, exploits, or cheats, as well as arranging to buy or sell accounts or virtual goods.

Rule 5: Respect the audience
Think about who you're talking to. Users may be as young as 13 on these message boards, and may be male or female, and from countries across the globe.
- Keep your language civil. Profanity is frowned on.
- Do not post Adult Material, inappropriate graphic sexual content in any format, or links to sexually explicit sites.
- Do not post graphic images or explicit descriptions of violent acts.
- Do not use an avatar or signature that could offend other users. They have to look at it a lot.

Rule 6: Respect privacy
- Do not post any private emails or private messages unless you have the explicit permission of each person involved in the exchange.
- Do not post private communication between customer support, members, moderators, or administrators on these forums, or anywhere else. (This include support ticket responses)
- Do not post any information covered by a non-disclosure agreement or beta testing agreement. Even if you somehow have inside information about our competitors, for legal reasons we don’t want to hear it.
- Do not post Facebook information about other forum users.
- Do not post any private information about other users.
- Do not post in-game information in an attempt to have other players attack your target. Be careful to not cross the line into bullying.

Rule 7: Do not spam
- Do not post repeatedly about the same topic.
- Do not spam users on the forums or through private messages.
- Do not start a thread without actual purpose.
- Do not start a thread about a news story or article unless you make it clear what the story is about, and offer your own opinion to start a discussion.

Rule 8: Respect your account
- Do not share your account information with other individuals. You will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account.
- Do not create new accounts or use other tricks to avoid suspensions or bans.
- Do not create ‘sock puppet’ accounts – multiple accounts created just so that you can agree with yourself and make it seem like your ideas have more support than they do.
- Never include your e-mail address or any other personal information in posts.

Rule 9: Respect the Moderators
- Do not post using the color red. This color is reserved for moderators.
- Do not impersonate moderators. Do not claim to speak for the moderators.

Rule 10: Respect the decisions of the moderators
- The moderation teams reserves the right to warn, suspend, or permanently ban users judged to be acting against the spirit of the rules, even if the user is following the letter of the rules.
- Do not argue with moderators about moderator decisions. You can disagree with a moderator’s opinions, just like any other poster, but when they post moderator actions in red text, it is considered final.
- Moderators have no access to your game account. If you have an issue you must contact customer service.

Generally, BE NICE. There is nothing wrong with being nice to each other.

Re: What activities or contents do you want to see on the forum?

Most of everything I wanted has already been said.
Make a clicky in game to come to this thread, someone said it earlier, but this is a very small community.

Black Market LTs, either pump out new ones on a monthly basis or so, and/or rotate older black market LTs through again on a weekly basis.

Player feedback on substantially weak LT abilities, Sara, Slade, Berserker, etc. to possibly change or buff the ability. This will give LTs that have been permanently shelved by players some playability to give more loadout options.

Announcing events and mini events on the forum in advance, seeing a banner in game 7 hours before it starts really messes with people's planning.

I'd also be interested in seeing the creation of LT and sidekick artwork for the game. I've always liked seeing sketches and how things evolve into very pretty pieces of art.

And the one I want the most is to just have Armid come say hello to us, she was the best.

I really enjoy when forum activities influence the game environment like the Create a LT contest or even this one.

I think it would be great if we had weekly votes for the Black Market LT for sale.

Re: What activities or contents do you want to see on the forum?

I would like to see there be an advantage or edge to be gained by involvement in the forums. I’m not sure the best way to implement this beyond passive acquisition of knowledge... One idea would be to use the “social media use=rewards” setup that other games use. Maybe in-forum goals to gain in-game rewards? Join the forums and gain 300 hunting supplies! Receive rewards for your forum account anniversaries? First 50 players to respond get a reward? Etc etc. Information is great but I’d like to see there be perks that can’t be shared in a Line group later. It doesn’t have to be that idea but something similar in spirit?

With that being said, having a much more aggressive developer presence in the forums would be wonderful. I’d love to have advance warning of upcoming events, promos, and content. Talking about in-the-pipeline concepts is enjoyable and player feedback can be beneficial during development. Several other posts have addressed this well and I agree with them.

One thing I would really like would be an overhaul of the Guides section. Please correct any missing bits or misinformation. Of specific priority would be areas players can actively affect i.e. boss thresholds but ideally it would all be checked to make sure it correctly guides the readers. Maybe add things you wish we knew?

It would be interesting to have quarterly or semiannual “grant awards” for improving the game awarded on the forums. Imagine taking the create an LT concept so wonderfully championed by Mist to a broader level. Have players submit proposals for a larger project that attempts to add or change in-game content. They are awarded monthly FP disbursements while working on their project with a developer. Once done, the content is released or modified in-game with an in-depth explanation posted to the forums. For example, Ya Boi Eddie! is currently working on concepts for LTs for an entirely new crate. If his proposal was accepted and funded, he could be rewarded for his efforts with FP and work directly with devs to make it practical, functional, implementable. There are a lot of creative people out there with a lot of great ideas.

I do like the idea of behind the scenes info. Show us the process it takes your artists to create a character. Show us your evil lair, I mean headquarters. Gives us outtakes, glitched images, terrible ideas that were discarded. Talk about the industry. Talk about pros/cons to the current app market. Talk about market pressures and difficulties behind the intellectual property that we may not be aware of. Make it personal.

That’s what I’ve got for the moment - might need to come back and edit...

^All of this!!! I wish I had suggested much of this. Bonus points for your behind-the-scenes paragraph and the hopes of guide clarification. Yes!

Re: What activities or contents do you want to see on the forum?

I’d like to see a reddit style up/down vote system for individual posts. The opinions shared on these forums aren’t necessarily held by the greater community and this would help give a voice to the silent majority. I’ve also found myself in the situation multiple times where wanted to state that I agreed or disagreed with a particular post but refrained from doing so because I didn’t have anything else to contribute and I didn’t want to spam the thread.

Dev insights would be good too. When changes are made or new features are introduced I think it would be good if the devs could provide a brief overview of why they chose to make the particular decisions that they did.

Re: What activities or contents do you want to see on the forum?

I would like to see a weekly highlight from a Dev on any subject
Find an old or new part of the game and talk about it, how it came to be, the desired outcome, the actual outcome, how it works, how a LT works, tips and tricks, really it would be great to get a piece of insight from the Dev's

Post it in Underworld Times (announce in game) - read only, and let us discuss and hash through in all of the other available places (Forum, Discord, Social Networking etc.) create a place to discuss if you want - but I would like to keep your insights in a neat and organized place for reference, and the comments separate (i.e. build a library of posts "from the DEVs") .... and if something changes, update the Dev post

The community can be and is very vocal, I am sure you will get opinions for and against - the idea from me is to see different pieces of the game that we may or may not understand and to see what you think and where we are going

              Thanks! 0c2e7e

I would like to see a list of ideas the developers are thinking about putting into the game. E

Allow the player base to comment and even vote on what we like. 3

This will allow you to likely improve upon the idea and to spend your time on things the player base wants to see. D

Make sure to have an in game message so that the entire player base knows it is out here. C

For a fun item, have a Where’s Waldo style event where clues are posted here for us to find a hidden developer toon. We find it and send it a message for a reward. First X number of players to send a message win. A

                Thanks! E

                    - if you wants new players you have to make event lt cheaper to obtain. Now new players only see the old players get stronger and then they find another game
                    - recycle the old event lt again, Six, Lady Luck and so on.
                    - make very cheap mini event with pick a rare lt of your own choice
-make gold bars easier to get

I didn't see an official "contest closed" post when the time ran out but the timer on this has expired.

Thanks to all who submitted great ideas here. This was a very informative thread. Here's hoping at least some of the suggestions can be implemented.

I think I might be late to the party lol?
I would like to see more people being active in forum. I see some new players post occasionally, mostly they have a question about an ingame feature that they don't understand. But sometimes they are upset about something. Nevertheless they are new blood and a resource

How to get more people into forum: the suggested "where is Waldo" contest could be announced in an ingame message + link and more of that kind.

                          Kindest Regards 🌺
