Forum Rules [Updated 12/21/2016]

MAIN RULES OF THE FORUMS

Please respect your community. Respect each other as you all enjoy the same thing – The Game.

We encourage open and friendly discussion of the game and the Community. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters, and are here to make sure that the Community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for players of all backgrounds, ages and groups.

It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules and to honor the behavior outlined.

PURPOSE OF THE FORUMS

These forums provide an area for constructive player discussions of the game. It also allows players to
help each other identify bugs and issues, and help each other reproduce and resolve them.

These forums are not the most direct way to contact support. If you’re having an issue with your game and you need direct assistance, please tap on the FAQ/Support tab within the game.

CHANGES OR IMPROVEMENT

Please make sure to stay updated on these rules by reviewing this page from time to time.

This is a private board. As such, decisions made are final.
We reserve the right to remove any message board content without notice for any reason.


Rule 1: Responses to rule violations
Violating these rules will result in warnings, either formal or informal, suspensions, banning, or other sanctions.

Rule 2: Respect other users on the forums
- Do not make attacks or insult other users, either in the forums or through private messages. Disagreements and debates are fine, but don’t make it personal.
- Do not attack groups. This includes professions, races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, incomes, or even vague groups like “you people.”
- Do not use ill terms which are offensive to groups, do not “flame”, “troll.” or “haze”.

Rule 3: Respect the forum purpose and structure
- Make your posts in the appropriate forum.
- Please use the Search function. If a relevant thread already exists, please post there instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. Duplicate threads will be closed to keep the forums orderly and easy to navigate.
- Keep off-topic posts in the off-topic forum.
- Don’t start discussions about games that are not ours.
- Do not cross-link to other message boards or websites unless approved by a moderator.

Rule 4: Respect the law
- Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law, or encourage other users to break the laws of the U.S. or their country of residence.
- Do not encourage users to break terms of service. This includes giving information about how to find scripts, exploits, or cheats, as well as arranging to buy or sell accounts or virtual goods.

Rule 5: Respect the audience
Think about who you're talking to. Users may be as young as 13 on these message boards, and may be male or female, and from countries across the globe.
- Keep your language civil. Profanity is frowned on.
- Do not post Adult Material, inappropriate graphic sexual content in any format, or links to sexually explicit sites.
- Do not post graphic images or explicit descriptions of violent acts.
- Do not use an avatar or signature that could offend other users. They have to look at it a lot.

Rule 6: Respect privacy
- Do not post any private emails or private messages unless you have the explicit permission of each person involved in the exchange.
- Do not post private communication between customer support, members, moderators, or administrators on these forums, or anywhere else. (This include support ticket responses)
- Do not post any information covered by a non-disclosure agreement or beta testing agreement. Even if you somehow have inside information about our competitors, for legal reasons we don’t want to hear it.
- Do not post Facebook information about other forum users.
- Do not post any private information about other users.
- Do not post in-game information in an attempt to have other players attack your target. Be careful to not cross the line into bullying.

Rule 7: Do not spam
- Do not post repeatedly about the same topic.
- Do not spam users on the forums or through private messages.
- Do not start a thread without actual purpose.
- Do not start a thread about a news story or article unless you make it clear what the story is about, and offer your own opinion to start a discussion.

Rule 8: Respect your account
- Do not share your account information with other individuals. You will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account.
- Do not create new accounts or use other tricks to avoid suspensions or bans.
- Do not create ‘sock puppet’ accounts – multiple accounts created just so that you can agree with yourself and make it seem like your ideas have more support than they do.
- Never include your e-mail address or any other personal information in posts.

Rule 9: Respect the Moderators
- Do not post using the color red. This color is reserved for moderators.
- Do not impersonate moderators. Do not claim to speak for the moderators.

Rule 10: Respect the decisions of the moderators
- The moderation teams reserves the right to warn, suspend, or permanently ban users judged to be acting against the spirit of the rules, even if the user is following the letter of the rules.
- Do not argue with moderators about moderator decisions. You can disagree with a moderator’s opinions, just like any other poster, but when they post moderator actions in red text, it is considered final.
- Moderators have no access to your game account. If you have an issue you must contact customer service.

Generally, BE NICE. There is nothing wrong with being nice to each other.

    Lies, that's my idea. You copied it, made some slight differences and sent it under your name. How can i tell that? We had same idea and you posted it 2 hours after me, we were pretty much next to each other. Congratulations but don't lie!

      Skill: X% change to ignore enemies shield and deal X% dmg to player/building health.

      Example: At 1*, 5% change to ignore enemies shield and deal 97,5% dmg to (player/building) health.
      At 9*, 15% change to ignore enemies shield and deal 110% dmg to (player/building) health.

      Note: Can use to hit buildings. Triggers even if player/building doesn't have shield.

      Epic lts. Name: Shawn, known as Sidestep. Alignment: Unaffiliated.

      Bio: Leader of the airforce squadron known as the Viper Squad, Flare has a talent for gunning things down both on the land and in the air with deadly accuracy. Like a bloodhound he relentlessly tracks down his enemies and shows them what's on the bad end of his guns. No one escapes Flare. No one.

      F-16 raptor: (vehicle)

      Ability: +1% critical chance (no stack).
      'Bio': Top of the line fighter jet equipped with enough weapons to level 3 city blocks. If you hear the boom from flare breaking the sound barrier, it's to late for you.

      Ability: 1% chance free heal (no stack)
      'Bio': State of the art high tech aviation suit complete with Kevlar, night vision head set and built med kits, the only person that won't die when flare wears this, is flare himself.

      Twin Uzis: (guns)
      14 Attack 13 Defence
      Ability: +2% critical damage (no stack) 'Bio': You can't fly all the time but nothing says you can't shoot all the time.

      This is Bcy's. Definitely some differences.

        Idea: ignore shield and do dmg directly to health.

              Don't forget armor setting off boobies, plague destroying high health builds, piercing damage, poppy for all demo dropping buildings faster, chastity for extra damage per debuff(most big defenders have 3 at the least, booby, tag and plague) and even twinkie chance to double armor damage.

              "wall" builds are just now slight speed bumps.

                let's say more likely plague, cuz they both share the "dmg ignore target armor" part.
                if u have 5 star flare (18%) and do 200 dmg to a tatget with 800 armor, 36 dmg of 200 will fall on health, then the rest 164 dmg fall on armor.

                it's not a +dmg lt but a lt that can ignore armor's resistance a lil bit so reapers and sins can cap that healer asap. it makes no difference once u can hit off the armor with that single shot, so ghosts better not have too high expectation on it.



                however, i still see the protential within:
                1. when u having constant lose hits on the healer, flare can make u contribute more by pushing his real health rather than hopelessly hitting armor. with active high-cappers, ur team make consume their health pack faster than ap
                2. high star flare can deal more dmg to healer's health than a fully upgraded plague. let's say when a healer has 1800/800 health/armor, a plague can deal dmg on health at most 1800*3%=54 per hit made, and the dmg drops with present health. but if u deal 300 dmg with a 6 star flare, it's more than 60 dmg to health. what's more, these two effects can work together. so the path of making a healer's health from 1800 to 1000(reaper's highest cap range withoutt lts) can be shorter now.

                  This direction is FAR better than where it was six months ago. If you were a player at that time you should remember the mind numbing endless saga of hitting a single defender for half of eve. This direction makes eve far more dynamic and fun. If anything the current state is a correction in balance.

                  Changes like this and other dmg increasing factors don't "bone wall builds". It affects all empires the same way.

                    Well, I disagree. And if you spent an hour of eve on one defender, then your empire doesn't deserve to win that eve, and that should be that.

                    Any change makes the game more dynamic. That's the very definition of the word "dynamic." My point (and I think many agree) is that the direction of the game for almost a year now has been a reactive push stemming from people whining about this very thing.

                    Offensive toons are now vastly OP compared to their defensive counterparts. This is just a fact. This latest LT only helps widen the gap. Normally I'd say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is just fact. If you disagree, you're wrong.

                    And it does "bone wall builds." And no, it doesn't impact all empires the same, much as it doesn't impact all players the same. I'm sure if someone has 3 glass cannon toons, they're tickled pink by the recent developments, whereas my single wall toon has been infinitely less impactful by the countless negative changes to the efficacy of its build over the past year. This, in turn, changes my interest in the game.

                    So if their goal was to gradually change eve from a strategic chess match into a forward charge, token burning free for all, then mission accomplished.

                      does flare works on counter attacks .
                      if i am an enforcer and some ghost hits me for 800 dmg and i deflect the shot . will a part of that damage go thru their armor or not ?

                        Seriously though... most empires these days seem to be all about brute force with little strategy involved. Can't say I am a big fan of the development overall. What I am okay with about it is that some empires still continue to make brutal tactical errors because they expect to overpower you...and then don't because their key buildings are down before their mass flail attack succeeds.

                        I think this is another reason I am having overall trouble finding new recruits. Tactics are lost on many now. Many wont even try to grasp. I swear I must be either the most kick-happy manager in the game rn, or people are lining up to test my patience for bs these days.

                        As for the LT. I have to agree. Kudos to the guy on the idea win, but to have the defender classes take another hit without some mitigation it is quickly becoming a brute force sprint to the back row.

                          In top 3 of legend, you can still hit a defender for over a hour. If you are coming from lower legend or under, I can't relate and don't care.

                          I don't see any reasoning behind your points. List them. What does "vastly OP" even mean? Or "countless" negative changes? Can you explain how things should be? I'd like to see how you would balance eve the way it should be. The only point I see explained / demonstrated is the one on whining.

                          Also I am a Titan. I much prefer eve in the state it is in now compared to what it was before. Not sure what the whining is about because it's not like it only affects your Titan only. The true results have just been an overall speed up of eve.
